What Downl.one is

Downl.one is a free, open-access media downloading service. It makes saving publicly available media from the internet easier. It works similarly to using your browser's developer tools to save a video — it does not circumvent DRM, break encryption, or access private or paid content.

Downl.one takes zero liability for how you use the files you download. The end user is entirely responsible for what they download, how they use it, and how they distribute it.

What Downl.one is not

• It is not a piracy tool. It cannot download DRM-protected content, subscription-gated content, or private content you don't have access to.
• It is not a tool for downloading content to re-upload and monetise without permission from the original creator.
• It is not affiliated with any of the platforms it supports. Support for a service does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or any form of partnership with that service.

Acceptable use

You may use Downl.one to download publicly accessible media for:

• Personal offline viewing or listening
• Archiving content you own or have rights to archive
• Educational, research, or journalistic purposes, consistent with fair use / fair dealing principles in your jurisdiction
• Creating derivative works where you have permission from the rights holder
• Accessibility purposes (e.g. downloading captions or audio-described content)

Prohibited use

You may not use Downl.one to:

• Download and re-distribute copyrighted content without permission from the rights holder
• Download content to create competing products without proper licensing
• Circumvent platform paywalls, subscriptions, or access controls
• Download content that belongs to or depicts individuals without their consent, with the intent to harass, stalk, or harm
• Automate mass downloading in a way that places unreasonable load on our servers or the source platforms
• Use the service for any purpose that violates the laws of your jurisdiction

Creator ethics

We believe in supporting the creators whose work makes the internet worth using. If you download someone's content, please consider:

• Watching their content on-platform to support ad revenue where applicable
• Supporting them directly through Patreon, Ko-fi, or similar platforms
• Not re-uploading their work without explicit permission
• Crediting them if you share or reference their work elsewhere

Availability

Downl.one is provided on an "as-is" basis with no guarantees of uptime, availability, or continued support for any particular platform. Platforms frequently change their APIs and structures — what works today may not work tomorrow. We do our best to keep things running but make no promises.

Abuse and rate limiting

To keep the service free and available for everyone, we apply rate limits per IP address. Attempts to circumvent rate limits, overload the service, or use Downl.one for automated scraping will result in your IP being blocked.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The "last updated" date above will always reflect when changes were made. Continued use of Downl.one constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
