Frequently Asked Questions
The short answers to the questions we get most.
Is Downl.one really free?
Yes — no signup, no paywalls, no download limits. It's free and always will be.
Is it legal to download videos with Downl.one?
Downloading is legal in most places for personal use, but re-uploading or redistributing content you don't own usually isn't. You're responsible for how you use what you download — see our Terms and Ethics of Use for the full picture.
Do you store the files I download, or keep logs of what I download?
No. Media streams directly from the source to you through our server — nothing is saved on our end, and we don't log what you download. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Which platforms are supported?
35+ platforms are listed on the homepage (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, Reddit, Vimeo and more), plus 1000+ more via our underlying processing engine. Paste a link and we'll tell you if it's supported.
Why did my download fail?
Usually one of: the link is private/region-locked, the platform changed something on their end, or it's a platform we don't support yet. Try a different link from the same platform to narrow it down, and let us know if it keeps happening.
Is there a file size or duration limit?
There's a generous server-side limit to keep things running smoothly for everyone, but it's well beyond what a normal video or audio download needs.
Can I download entire playlists?
Yes — turn on Playlist mode before pasting the link, and we'll pull the full list so you can pick what to download.
Do you track me or use cookies?
No third-party analytics or tracking cookies. We keep an anonymous, aggregate count of downloads by platform and type (never tied to you) to see what's popular — nothing personal is ever recorded.
What's the relationship with Stuxs.Tools?
Stuxs.Tools is our sister project — 160+ free web tools (encoding, images, text, calculators and more), built and run by the same team. Check it out.
How do I request a new platform or report a bug?
Email [email protected] with the platform or a description of what went wrong — the more detail, the faster it gets sorted.
